A Space for Respect, Reflection and Connection

The Anura’kai Forum is a place for people to come together in a spirit of openness, curiosity, compassion and mutual respect. It is a space to ask questions, share experiences, explore ideas, express different perspectives and learn from one another.

Anura’kai recognises that every person arrives with a unique life story, culture, tradition, experience and understanding of the world. We do not need to think alike in order to walk together. Our purpose is not to win arguments or convince others that our way is the only way, but to listen, learn and contribute to a greater culture of love, peace and harmony.

These Community Guidelines exist to help us maintain a forum where people feel safe, welcomed, valued and free to participate.

1. Treat Every Person with Respect

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity. Please engage with others as you would wish to be treated yourself. Differences of opinion, belief, culture, background or experience are welcome, but personal attacks, humiliation, intimidation, insults, harassment and deliberately hurtful behaviour are not.

Challenge ideas when necessary, but never attack the dignity of the person expressing them.

2. Speak with Kindness and Compassion

Words have the power to heal, connect and inspire, but they can also cause unnecessary harm. Before posting, consider not only whether something is true or meaningful to you, but also how it may be received by another person. We encourage thoughtful communication, patience and empathy, particularly when discussing subjects that may be deeply personal or sensitive.

3. Be Open to Different Perspectives

The Anura’kai Forum welcomes sincere perspectives from people of different cultures, spiritual traditions, religions, philosophies and life experiences. You are encouraged to share what you believe and why you believe it. You are equally encouraged to listen to perspectives that differ from your own.

No individual or group has a monopoly on wisdom. Disagreement is not necessarily division. When approached with respect, it can become an opportunity for deeper understanding.

4. No Religious or Ideological Coercion

Anura’kai is a path of exploration, not coercion. Please do not use the Forum to pressure, manipulate or shame others into accepting a particular religion, spiritual belief, political ideology or worldview.

People should be free to explore questions of existence, spirituality and meaning without being told what they must believe.

5. Honour Diversity and Inclusion

The Anura’kai community embraces human diversity. We welcome people regardless of their culture, nationality, age, gender, background, spiritual or religious tradition, abilities, circumstances or personal journey.

Discrimination, racism, hatred, dehumanising language or attacks against people or groups have no place within this community. Our diversity is not an obstacle to harmony. It is part of what makes harmony possible.

6. Protect Personal Privacy

Please respect your own privacy and the privacy of others. Do not share another person’s private information, personal communications, photographs or other identifying information without their permission.

Remember that something shared publicly online may remain accessible long after the original conversation has ended.

7. Keep Conversations Constructive

The Forum exists for meaningful conversation and connection. Please avoid repetitive arguments, deliberate provocation, trolling, personal feuds, excessive negativity and conversations whose primary purpose is to create conflict.

It is perfectly acceptable to say, “I see this differently.” It is not acceptable to make another person feel unwelcome simply because they disagree with you.

8. Share Responsibly

When sharing information, quotations, teachings, news, scientific claims or other material, please make a reasonable effort to ensure that it is accurate and presented honestly. If you are sharing something that represents your personal experience or belief, make that clear.

The Forum is a place for exploration and conversation, not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal, financial or other specialist advice.

9. No Spam, Manipulation or Unwanted Promotion

Please do not use the Forum primarily to advertise products, services, websites, fundraising campaigns or commercial activities without appropriate permission. Unsolicited promotional material, repetitive posting, deceptive links, scams, manipulation and attempts to exploit community members are not permitted.

Where appropriate, genuine projects, creative work and community initiatives may be shared when they contribute meaningfully to the conversation.

10. Respect the Sacred Nature of Conversation

Anura’kai encourages us to approach life with awareness. Some conversations may involve grief, spirituality, personal transformation, suffering, faith, death, identity, relationships or other deeply meaningful experiences.

Please approach such conversations with particular care. You never know what another person may be carrying when they enter this space.

11. Children and Vulnerable People

Please exercise particular care when discussing or interacting with children and vulnerable people. Do not seek to establish inappropriate relationships, request private information or engage in behaviour that could place another person at risk.

Any content or behaviour that raises serious safeguarding concerns may be removed and, where appropriate, referred to the relevant authorities.

12. Moderation and Community Safety

The Anura’kai Forum is intended to remain a welcoming and constructive community. Content may be removed, edited or restricted when it violates these guidelines or threatens the safety, dignity or integrity of the community. Members may also be asked to modify their behaviour, temporarily restricted from participating, or removed from the Forum where necessary. Moderation decisions will be guided by the principles of fairness, proportionality, safety and respect.

The Anura’kai Community reserves the right to take appropriate action where behaviour seriously undermines the wellbeing of the community.

13. When in Doubt, Choose the Path of Harmony

Before you post, pause for a moment and ask yourself:

  • Is it true?
  • Is it necessary?
  • Is it respectful?
  • Does it contribute to understanding?
  • Does it help create the kind of world we want to live in?

Not every disagreement needs to become an argument. Not every argument needs to be won. Sometimes the most meaningful contribution is simply to listen.

The Anura’kai Forum is an invitation to practise something greater than conversation: the art of living together.

Our Shared Commitment

By participating in the Anura’kai Forum, we invite you to help create a community where people can speak honestly, listen deeply, question freely and meet one another with compassion.

We may come from different places. We may hold different beliefs. We may understand the world in different ways.

Yet we can still choose how we treat one another.

Love in our words. Peace in our dialogue. Harmony in our community.

Together, we can help create a better world.

Final word

These Community Guidelines are offered as practical expressions of the values we seek to embody in our relationships with one another and with the world around us. They help create a space where respect, compassion, inclusion and meaningful dialogue can flourish.

Yet beneath all guidelines there is a deeper principle. Anura’kai teaches that spiritual life is not ultimately defined by a collection of rules, but by the way we choose to live in relationship with the Earth, Nature and all living beings.

At the heart of Anura’kai is therefore a single guiding principle, a simple expression of our shared responsibility and our reverence for life:

Let no harm be done to the Earth, Nature, or any living Being.

This is the Single Commandment of Anura’kai.

It is not intended as a prohibition, but as an invitation to awareness. It calls us to consider the consequences of our thoughts, our words and our actions, and to choose, wherever possible, the path that protects life, reduces suffering and contributes to the flourishing of the whole.

From this principle, the spirit of Anura’kai unfolds: to live with Love, to cultivate Peace, and to create Harmony with all that is.
